Scar orders the Hyenas to kill Simba however Simba manages to escape. Scar who is unaware of Simba’s survival tells the story of the pride in the stampede that killed Mufasa, Simba and Simba, and then he is sworn into the position of the King, allowing the Pride Lands to be occupied by the Hyenas.

Pumbaa and Timon are saved by Simba who is an adult who is Nala. She and Simba fall in love, and she enjoins Simba to return home, telling Simba that the Pride Lands have become a dry desert under the reign of Scar. Simba is visited by the spirit of Mufasa in the night sky, and they tell Simba that he has to accept his place as King. Rafiki tells Simba to learn from his past and not run away from the past. Simba then decides to return to the Pride Lands.
Simba, aided by his friends, sneaks past Pride Rock’s hyenas before confronting Scar. Scar is shocked to be able to see Simba alive. Scar confronts Simba over his role in the death of Mufasa and then drags him to the edge of the rock, from where Scar reveals to Simba that he killed Mufasa. Scar is furious and Simba responds by telling Scar the truth to the rest. Timon, Pumbaa Rafiki and Zazu fight against the hyenas. Scar tries to escape from Simba on a ledge at the top of Pride Rock. Scar begs for mercy and blames his crime on the hyenas. Simba is kind to him, but orders him to quit the Pride Lands forever. Scar continues to attack and after a brief fight, Simba takes him from the ledge, falling to the floor below. Scar is able to recover from the fall, but the hyenas overheard Scar accusing them of being a threat and then trample him to death.
Simba is made king, and Nala is made queen. With the Pride Lands restored, Rafiki presents Simba and Nala’s newborn cub to the animals and continues the circle of life.
